ASEAN Fujian delegation visits Fujian to boost regional cooperation

A delegation from the Federation of ASEAN Fujian Associations visited Fujian province in May to explore regional integration and overseas development opportunities.

The visit centered on strengthening overseas business and professional networks, supporting Fujian's efforts to deepen international cooperation and engagement with overseas Chinese communities. Officials described the federation as an important bridge connecting Fujian with Southeast Asian markets. The delegation's objectives included facilitating outbound investment for Fujian-based enterprises and expanding connectivity with ASEAN member states.

The delegation was led by Cai Yongning, the rotating chairman of the federation and honorary president of the Federation of Filipino Chinese Associations of the Philippines (FFCAP), and Tan Sri Lim Hock San, president of the Federation of Hokkien Associations of Malaysia (FHAM). The group visited several cities in Fujian, including Fuzhou and Quanzhou, where representatives met with the Quanzhou Overseas Chinese Youth Federation to discuss mechanisms for long-term business cooperation and cultural exchange.

Cai noted that Quanzhou's historical and geographic ties to Southeast Asia create strong potential for future cooperation. The federation intends to use its regional influence to support Fujian's industrial expansion and encourage younger members of the overseas Chinese community to stay connected with Chinese culture.
