Fifteen enterprises and five projects from Xiamen Free Trade Zone's National Cultural Export Base were recently selected as 2025-2026 National Key Cultural Export Enterprises and Projects.
At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, the International Sci-fi Film Summit, co-organized by Xiamen Haisi Film Technology Co Ltd from the Xiamen FTZ's National Cultural Export Base, became a focal event.
As the only official sci-fi themed event at the Cannes Film Festival, the summit gathered global film and technology experts under the theme "Sci-fi connects the world, AI reshapes the future" to discuss new opportunities for sci-fi films in the AI era.
Fang Yong, co-founder of Maritime Silk Road (Xiamen) International Film Industrial Base, promoted Xiamen FTZ and the industrial base at the summit, showcasing their development achievements under the "digital-film integration" strategy.
As one of China's first National Cultural Export Bases, Xiamen FTZ's base has ranked first among national bases for two consecutive years. It has nurtured 37 national key cultural export enterprises and projects and seven "Qianfan Chuhai" (Chinese culture going overseas) initiatives. From January to April, the base added 306 cultural enterprises with 681 million yuan ($94.7 million) in registered capital.
