2025 China (Fujian) Non-Public Economy Development Forum kicks off in Fuzhou

Participants take part in discussions on technological and industrial innovation for private sector growth. FUJIAN DAILY

The 2025 China (Fujian) Non-Public Economy Development Forum was held on Oct 15 in Fuzhou, as the second edition in Fujian province since the fourth forum was held in Xiamen in 2006.

This year's theme is promoting deep integration of technological and industrial innovation to empower high-quality development of the private economy.

The forum features six sessions focusing on technological innovation, business succession, the digital economy, the marine economy, the business environment, and the "Jinjiang Experience" in innovation-driven development.

Over 800 representatives from various sectors attended the forum. During the event, participants visited Fuzhou, Xiamen, Putian, Sanming, and Nanping for business inspections and project matchmaking.

Fujian, one of China's first provinces to begin opening-up, considers the private economy as an essential part of its distinctive character, vitality, and competitive advantage.

Ma Peihua, vice-chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, encouraged private entrepreneurs to deeply integrate technological and industrial innovation while continuously accumulating experience.

Zhou Zuyi noted that the private economy is a defining characteristic of Fujian province. FUJIAN DAILY 

Zhou Zuyi, Party secretary of the CPC Fujian Provincial Committee, highlighted Fujian's commitment to driving innovation, building high-level science and technology platforms, optimizing industrial structure, developing new forms of productivity suited to local conditions, and fostering a market-oriented, law-based, international, and convenient business environment to strengthen private enterprise growth.

Hosted by China National Democratic Construction Association, the China Non-Public Economy Development Forum has been held 20 times, serving as high-level platform for political participation, policy discussion, and mobilization of private sector representatives to contribute to local economic development.
