The coastal province of Fujian in East China is the starting point of the ancient Maritime Silk Road. It faces the sea, with hills, forests and islands scattered throughout the province.
Fujian is home to several UNESCO world heritage sites such as the city of Quanzhou, Gulangyu Island, Fujian Tulou and Wuyi Mountain. It's also famed for its age-old tea culture, especially Wuyi rock tea. Wuyi Mountain was the southern starting point of an ancient international tea road that stretched all the way to Russia.
